IDEA & BRAND & DESIGN

FOUNDATION

I have founded Remotelo.cz in 2018, when I recognized the potential and growing need for remote work in today’s evolving job market. With firsthand experience in the freedom and opportunities remote work provides, as well as background in HR, I decided to create Remotelo to bridge the gap between modern companies and professionals seeking flexibility.

BRANDING

Color scheme & fonts

I chose a bold and playful color palette to reflect Remotelo’s positive and inspiring energy.

The bright blue and vibrant pink stand as a reference to the expansive and adventurous nature of working remotely, symbolizing boundless opportunities and a sense of freedom. To create a bold and playful look that matches Remotelo’s positive and inspiring energy, I used Lexend for both headings and body text.

Logo & brand mark

The primary logo for Remotelo is a simple yet dynamic text-based design that emphasizes the “Remote” part of the brand name by using a distinct color.

This approach highlights the core focus of the platform while allowing flexibility in the branding of various features, such as “RemoteLetter” for the newsletter.

The clean typography is designed to be both functional and versatile, adapting seamlessly across different applications. For secondary uses, the logo’s color differentiation enables easy adaptation to different contexts, while maintaining a cohesive and recognizable visual identity.

For occasional uses, the brand mark features a blue background with a world map pattern, incorporating the letter “R” to symbolize global reach and connectivity. This brand mark enhances the visual identity with a distinctive element that reinforces Remotelo’s international and remote work themes.

Stock photography

In crafting Remotelo’s visual identity, I chose to use stock photography sparingly, opting instead for vibrant illustrations to bring the brand’s energy to life.

When stock photos were used, they depicted remote professionals embracing a flexible lifestyle—working, traveling, and enjoying a better quality of life on their own terms. These images were selected to avoid stereotypes and ensure authenticity, aligning with Remotelo’s values of freedom and real-life work experiences.

This approach complements the playful and inspiring tone of the illustrations, creating a cohesive and genuine visual narrative for the brand.

Illustration

The illustrations for Remotelo are designed to feel friendly, bold and playful, embodying the brand’s vibrant and uplifting spirit.

They use the brand’s colors to create a cohesive and energetic visual experience that complements the overall design.

The illustrations reflect the freedom and flexibility of remote work, enhancing the platform’s engaging and friendly tone while staying true to its core themes.

Iconography

I opted for simple, modern, and minimalistic icons to balance the vibrant and detailed illustrations. The decision was driven by the need to create visual contrast and maintain a clean, uncluttered look.

These icons serve as a subtle yet effective counterweight to the more elaborate illustrations, ensuring that the overall design remains visually engaging without overwhelming the user.

The minimalist style of the icons enhances usability and integrates seamlessly with the playful and dynamic elements of the brand, providing a harmonious and user-friendly experience.

Brand tonality & copywriting

We established a brand tonality that reflects a friendly, understanding, and authentic voice. The communication strategy embraces a blend of three distinct personalities.

Our brand voice is characterized by being sincere, positive, playful yet professional. We consistently work with the theme of “working from anywhere,” even playfully imagining working from space to underscore the limitless possibilities remote work offers.

To ensure consistency and alignment with the brand’s tonality, we first determined the core communication strategy and brand voice. With these guidelines in place, my copywriter meticulously crafted all the textual content. This involved refining the tone to match our brand’s friendly and innovative personality, ensuring that every piece of text resonated with our audience while maintaining clarity and engagement.

Full spectrum design

As the sole creator behind Remotelo, I took on the challenge of designing and developing every aspect of the project. This extensive work included not only the core website but also all related elements such as social media designs, promotional materials, and free resources.

For instance, I designed the freebie PDF, which is an integral part of Remotelo’s offering. This design reflects the brand’s vibrant and playful personality, ensuring that all elements—from the website to downloadable resources—maintain a cohesive and engaging visual identity.

This hands-on approach allowed me to infuse a consistent tone and style throughout the entire project, creating a seamless and unified experience for users. Every detail, from the visual elements to the copy, was carefully crafted to align with Remotelo’s mission and branding.

Although Remotelo is a personal project that I have developed and launched with great enthusiasm, I unfortunately do not have the capacity to dedicate extensive time to its marketing and promotion. Despite this, I have received highly positive feedback from those I reached out to, including coworking centers and industry professionals. This encouraging response underscores the platform’s potential and its strong reception within the remote work community.

I am truly gratified to have created a valuable, free online resource for job seekers, and it warms me to think that it could improve someone’s life.

Looking ahead, I am excited about the potential impact Remotelo can have on the remote work landscape. While my involvement in the project may be limited at this time, I am hopeful that the platform will continue to grow and provide meaningful benefits to its users.
